GODZILLA SHREDS Bubble Gum (Amurol, 1988)

Good things come to those who wait, and in my case, that means petrified Godzilla gum from 1988 (with a Woolworth's price tag, no less).  This is the mate to the GODZILLA HEADS gum that was made the same year (see other post for photos), and I'm not sure which came first, but I'd be willing to bet that the "Heads" preceded this one, as this is basically just "Big League Chew" in fruit punch flavor, but there's no way to really know.
For those interested, this company also made King Kong and Wolf Man gum, so somebody went to some trouble to pay for licensing, I'm sure.

I was just thinking about this gum and found this post. I believe the "shreds" came before the "heads." At least I don't remember finding the heads until at least a year after the shreds. And in fact, I can say that the King Kong and Werewolf shreds came before Godzilla got his flavor, because our grocery store had a wire basket FULL of Kong and Werewolf gum, and as I picked a Kong pack I remember wishing they had made Godzilla gum too.. and it was a bit later that that one showed up too, wish granted! Godzilla stuff was so scarce at that time that it was a big deal to me.

@Anonymous - That's very interesting! Now that I think about it, it would be much easier for a candy company to launch "shreds" first, since it didn't require any tooling! So, it makes sense!
